Willard Russell Shoults 

Willard Russell Shoults, 90, of Centreville, AL passed away June 12, 2024 at Bibb Medical Center after a long battle with dementia. He was the son of the late Russel and Honnah Craig Shoults of Lawley and had two sisters, Sue (Crothers) and Sharon (Deerman). Willard was an All-State football player at BCHS and attended Auburn University on scholarship. While serving in the Army for 2 years, he married his high school sweetheart Carol. “Jamup”, an avid motorcycle rider & winning racer, worked in many aspects of the motorcycle and automobile business during his lifetime. He also built and owned the Army Barn in Brent. 

He is survived by wife Carol Nichols Shoults, daughter Jenny (Phil) Cottingham, daughter Melissa (Tom) Bobo, son Brandon (Kandy) Shoults; grandchildren Justin Cottingham, Sam Cissell, Olivia C. Hayden, & Ben Shoults; great-grands Carys C. Gilbert, Sawyer, Fowler, & Fox Cottingham, Annie & Jay Hayden, and great-great grand Josie Gilbert.  

The Funeral Service was held at Brent Baptist Church, on June 19 with former BBC pastor Dr. Bob Crider leading the service. Pall Bearers were Preston James Jr., Phil Cottingham, Bill Patridge, Rusty Crouch, Jeff McKinney, and Ben Shoults. Honorary Pall Bearers were Jim Oakley and Bill Faucette. Tom Bobo prepared the beautiful AV photo Memories. Wayne Rinehart operated sound. Burial was at Pineland Cemetery, with Rocko Funeral Home directing.
