West Blocton High School Prepares for Homecoming Celebration on October 25, 2024

The excitement is building at West Blocton High School as preparations for the highly anticipated Homecoming festivities are in full swing. Set for Friday, October 25, 2024, the event promises to bring together current students, alumni, and the wider community for a day of celebration, tradition, and school spirit.
This year’s Homecoming Court features a group of talented and accomplished young women representing each grade level. The 2024 West Blocton High School Homecoming Court and Maids are as follows:
- 9th Grade Representative: Jacey Register
- 10th Grade Representative: Koli Hobson
- 11th Grade Representative: Madilyn Carroll
- 12th Grade Court: Ava Bamberg, Jada Washington, Madelyn Wiginton, and Makynli Kidd
The crowning of the Homecoming Queen will take place during halftime of the football game against Tarrant High School.
The Homecoming Parade is scheduled for the afternoon of October 25th. Parade lineup will begin at 10:30 a.m. at West Blocton High School, and the parade itself will kick off at 12:00 noon. All participants must ensure their vehicles are in the lineup, as those not in the parade lineup will not be allowed in the parking lot. There is a $5 cash fee to participate, which can be paid to Mrs. Sellers.
In addition to the crowning, West Blocton will honor its alumni throughout the evening. Classes ending in 4 will be recognized, giving these graduates a special place in this year’s Homecoming celebration. The Alumni Tea will begin at 5:00 p.m., offering an opportunity for old friends to reconnect and reminisce. Field recognition for alumni will take place between 6:00 and 6:20 p.m., with the official honor ceremony set to start at 6:30 p.m.
After the Homecoming football game, the students will come together once more for the Homecoming dance, which will be held the following Saturday night.
