Rickey Lane Colburn
Rickey Lane Colburn, 62, of Cottondale, AL passed away peacefully at his home on August 16, 2024.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Colburn, daughters Scarlett Chesser (Daniel), Amanda Hill (Tommy) Dealie Colburn, stepdaughters Christy Duncan (Paul), Melissa Grammer; Granddaughter Sierra Hernandez (Manny), step granddaughter Lauren McDaniel; Great Granddaughters Stella Chesser, Lily Hernandez; Great Grandson Abel Hernandez; Nieces Angela Herron (Paul), Ann Sexton (Rod), Misty Shuttlesworth (Kevin) and Kristi Morris, Nephews Adam Colburn and Allen Colburn.
He is preceded by Grandparents Dolan Colburn and Lola Colburn, Don Wallace and Nolie Wallace, Parents Richard C. Colburn and Dealie A Colburn, Brothers Richard Dale Colburn, Thomas Allen “Benny” Colburn, Bruce Colburn and Sister Janey Colburn.
Rickey worked many years operating equipment at Cahaba Veneer. In his free time he enjoyed watching Westerns, Alabama Football, attending Historical Parks, Indian Festivals and collecting items to add to his Indian Collection and traveling.
A special thanks goes to the doctors, aides, nurses, social worker and Brother Tim Webb all of Alabama Hospice Care.
A celebration of Rickey’s life will be held on September 14th at Woodland Forrest Baptist Church 6701 Hargrove Road East Tuscaloosa, AL 35405 from 1:00 to 3:00pm. All who knew and loved Rickey are welcome to attend.
