The Bibb County Education Retiree’s Association held their April meeting at the West Blocton Public Library. Dennis Stripling, Executive Director of the West Alabama Commission on Aging, presented an informative program on services available for seniors in West Alabama. Entertainment was provided by Millie Morris and Catherine Hammond, cast members of the recent Bibb County Children’s Theatre production of “Beauty and the Beast.” Service projects for the remainder of the year were discussed as well as scholarships which will be awarded at Bibb County High and West Blocton High at Awards Day in May. Members and guest attending Suzanne Jones, Faye Johnson, Judy Elliott, Sarah Lunsford, Mary Beth Sansing, Fran Kornegay, Donna Cook, Dennis Stripling, Vickie Brown, Millie Morris and Catherine Hammond, Bibb County Children’s Theatre.
