Woodstock Senior Center Director Frankie Grammer Crowned “Queen of the Centers”

The Town of Woodstock has a new queen — but instead of a crown and castle, she reigns with dedication, service, and an unwavering commitment to her community. Frankie Grammer, Director of the Woodstock Senior Activity Center (SAC), was recently honored as “Queen of the Centers” by the West Alabama Regional Commission (WARC) and the Area Agency on Aging of West Alabama for her outstanding leadership and dedication.

Grammer’s recognition is well-earned. She does far more than manage the daily operations of the center — she brings it to life. From coordinating engaging activities to handling paperwork, she ensures that Woodstock’s senior community has a welcoming and enriching space to gather. But her impact goes beyond the center’s walls. She has partnered with the Green Pond Fire Department to provide monthly health screenings and the Bibb County Cooperative Extension office for educational programming. She even leads an exercise class three times a week, proving that leadership is about action, not just administration.

“Frankie was crowned for her continued efforts to step up when needed,” said WRAC Aging Services Coordinator Nikki Poe, recognizing the initiative Grammer takes in every aspect of her role. The honor was announced at the recent West Alabama senior center directors’ training session on March 5.

Mayor Jeff Dodson also praised her contributions: “Frankie’s tireless efforts make a significant difference in the lives of so many, and we are proud to recognize her outstanding contributions. Her dedication to the community truly embodies the spirit of service, and her innovative approach has created a lasting positive impact, not just at the center, but also for the Town of Woodstock.”

Frankie Grammer’s work is a testament to the power of community leadership. She is not just running a senior center — she is creating a space where seniors feel valued, engaged, and supported. The title of “Queen of the Centers” is more than an award; it is a reflection of the impact she makes every day.
