Brent Elementary School (BES) is excited to introduce an exciting addition to its campus – Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine! This innovative vending machine isn’t just dispensing snacks or toys; it’s offering a selection of captivating books to spark the imaginations of the students.
Positioned as an incentive and reward system, the book vending machine is set to become a central element for promoting positive behavior, academic achievement, excellent attendance, and hopefully, a lifelong passion for reading.
This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable support of several key individuals and organizations. The school extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Kevin Cotner, Bibb County Superintendent, and the members of the Board of Education for their unwavering financial assistance. Their dedication to enhancing the educational experience of the students is truly admirable.
Recognition is also due to the Bibb County Schools Foundation for acknowledging the commitment of the Reading Specialists, Melissa Dearman and Tiasha Hamilton, and selecting them as grant recipients for the purchase of books. Their vision and advocacy for literacy have been instrumental in realizing this project.
The journey from conception to reality required a collaborative effort, and the school is immensely thankful to everyone who played a role in bringing it to fruition. Special thanks are extended to Brett Lightsey, Shavarus James, Ryan Epperson, Officer Crocker, and Matt Downs for their kind assistance during the delivery and setup process. Their hard work and dedication have ensured that the students can now benefit from this exciting initiative.
With the ability to earn tokens through positive behavior and academic achievements, the students are empowered to select books that capture their interest and nurture their love for reading.
