Town of West Blocton Minutes of Regular Meeting
Monday, June 17, 2024@ 7:00 P.M.
The Town Council of the Town of West Blocton, Alabama met in a Regular Council Meeting at the Municipal Building on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. A quorum being present. Mayor Daniel Sims called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Prayer led by Glenn Johnson. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Kristen Nash. Roll was called by Town Clerk Brandy Fancher. Mayors Notes:
- 4th of July Update-Elite Production is setting up the stage with sound and lights. Casey Thrasher and Taylor Bagi
are confirmed to perform. There will also be bounce houses and a water slide for the kids to enjoy. Also, the WB Cheerleaders will be doing face painting and corn hole. The town has received enough sponsorship that we no longer need the requested $2150.00 from the last council meeting.
- Town Park-The tree has been cut down. The play area now has mulch and border installed. The new swing set has
been installed and lastly the solar lights are in place.

Roll Call Vote was used to approve the previous Council Meeting Minutes from June 6, 2024. Council Member Fred Lynch-Yes Council Member Glenn Johnson-Yes Council Member Blane Sherron-Yes Council Member Kristen Nash-Yes 4- Yes 0-No Motion passes unanimously.
Renewal of Travelers Insurance
Roll Call Vote was used to approve the renewal of Travelers Insurance with a 25% increase. Council Member Fred Lynch-Yes Council Member Glenn Johnson-Yes Council Member Blane Sherron-Yes Council Member Kristen Nash-Yes 4– Yes 0-No Motion passes unanimously.
Water Clerk Computer
Roll Call Vote was used to approve $1539.98 to be paid to Braxsim Technology to purchase a new workstation. Council Member Fred Lynch-Yes Council Member Glenn Johnson-Yes Council Member Blane Sherron-Yes Council Member Kristen Nash-Yes 4-Yes 0-No Motion passes unanimously.
Cameras at Town Park
Roll Call Vote was used to approve a budget of $400-$600 to install cameras at the Town Park. Council Member Fred Lynch-Yes Council Member Glenn Johnson–Yes Council Member Blane Sherron-Yes Council Member Kristen Nash-Yes 4- Yes 0-No Motion passes unanimously.
Acceptance of CCR Report
Roll Call Vote was used to accept the CCR Report completed by Vicky Rickman and submit to ADEM. Council Member Fred Lynch-Yes Council Member Glenn Johnson-Yes Council Member Blane Sherron–Yes Council Member Kristen Nash Yes 4-Yes 0-No Motion passes unanimously.
Budget for Police Safe
Roll Call Vote was used to approve a budget of $1100-$1200 to purchase a safe from Simmons Sporting Goods to secure police weapons. Council Member Fred Lynch-Yes Council Member Glenn Johnson-Yes Council Member Blane Sherron-Yes Council Member Kristen Nash-Yes 4-Yes 0-No Motion passes unanimously.

There being no further business to come before the Town Council at this time, Council Member Blane Sherron made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Council Member Kristen Nash. All in favor and motion so carried.
