Bibb County Education Retiree’s Association were represented by members Vickie Brown, Fran Kornegay and Avis Huey at the “Alabama Retiree’s Day” at the State House rally in Montgomery April 3rd. Education Retirees from across the state participated and there were more than 400 in attendance. The purpose of the rally was to seek support for funding the Education Retiree’s Trust Fund from state legislators and bring awareness to retirees who have not received a funding increase in 18 years. Bibb County representatives were appreciative to Representative Curtis Travis and Senator April Weaver who took time out of their busy schedules to listen to their constituents and their requests for funding for retired educators.
