On November 8, 2021 a Bibb County DHR Adult Protective Services Worker was brutally attacked in the parking lot of the agency in Centreville, Alabama when she was intentionally run down by a motor vehicle allegedly driven by an angry client named James David Stemple. The motor vehicle assault was described as intentional.

Stemple was on the premises after being charged with Human Trafficking Second Degree on September 23, 2021 and was released on bond. DHR was involved with Stemple as part of an adult protective services case. Stemple was escorted out of the DHR building after striking another DHR worker with his cane.

The injured DHR worker, Tracy Eubanks, was walking along the sidewalk returning to the DHR building when the perpetrator intentionally drove his vehicle onto the sidewalk and ran over Mrs. Eubanks, then reversed and backed over her again. Sources said he was attempting to run over her for the third time when a Centreville Police Officer fired a weapon into his vehicle stopping Stemple. The assailant was taken into custody by law enforcement and is currently being held in the Bibb County jail without bond. Stemple’s bond in the trafficking case was revoked after he was charged with Attempted Murder and Assault in the Second Degree in the instant case.

Tracy Eubanks, was airlifted from Bibb Medical Center to UAB. Her sister, Margaret Dill of Jefferson County, has advised us that Tracy has serious back injuries and has undergone surgeries. She is still hospitalized. Tracy’s adolescent son is staying with Mrs. Dill. Her recovery road will be extended however she has a good prognosis and a strong desire to achieve a full recovery and eventually return to her work. Mrs. Dill said that Tracy is greatful and appreciative of the outpouring of care and affection received from her friends in Bibb County and she appreciates the prayers that have been sent up on her behalf.

Tracy is a resident of SW Jefferson County and lives near the Warrior River. Her teenage son plays in the Oak Grove high school band. She attends The Bible Comes To Life Church in Adger.

Tracy transferred to Bibb County from Jefferson 4 years ago and is the Supervisor for Adult Protective Services Division in Bibb. A co-worker told us that Tracy is dedicated to the work she performs and is determined to return to her important work as soon as she recovers.
