The event was held outdoors at the Bibb County Farmers Market on the grounds of Bibb Medical Center’s open pavilion and was well attended. The event was sponsored by the Alabama Forestry Association
“Our police, fire fighters and paramedics are community leaders that often perform thankless jobs for our communities,” said April Weaver, candidate for Alabama State Senate, District 14. “We wanted to show our appreciation and support for these fine men and women.
Weaver and the Alabama Forestry Association sponsored three “Back the Blue” events over a two day period in Centreville, Helena and Clanton. Weaver, assisted by volunteers, cooked hamburgers and prepared meals to show support and appreciation for our first responders. Well over 500 people attended all three events
“We were pleased with the community turnout,” April Weaver stated. “Hopefully, we were able to spread a little joy to our first responders and show our appreciation by providing them with good home cooked hamburgers.”
