Woodstock Mayor Jeff Dodson

Mayor Jeff Dodson welcomed the monthly gathering of the Bibb County Chamber of Commerce at the Woodstock Town Hall this morning. A good crowd was on hand to hear from Mayor Dodson and other guests about what is happening in Woodstock and other areas of the County. The Mayor talked about economic growth in his municipality and specifically about improvements that are underway at Exit 100 off of Interstate 59/20.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Valerie Cook presented a Plaque of Appreciation to retiring Board Member Patricia Sellers. Patricia, who works at First U.S. Bank,  has served voluntarily on the Chamber Board for over 9 years.

Courtney Cox Allen, Cahaba Medical Care

Courtney Cox Allen of Cahaba Medical Care spoke about the Cahaba Spring Shootout, a fundraiser that will be held on April 27 at the Brent Belcher Farm in Perry County. This will be a team skill shooting event and should be challenging and great fun for the shooters. The event will be held to raise money for the Riverwalk project located behind the Chamber of Commerce in Centreville and there will be a kickoff dinner on April 1 (Door Prizes). Captain Jamaine Isaac, Alabama State Trooper

Alabama State Trooper Captain Jamaine Isaac spoke about the availability of free Domestic Violence, Workplace Violence,  and Violence Against Women training programs that are available for groups through the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Jami Carlee of Bibb Medical Center mentioned the Mayors 100 Mile Walk Challenge coming up next month and the Walk to Prevent Suicide which will be a Woodstock Town Hall on April 14 was also discussed.
