West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers Walk-Off in Nail-Biter Against Montevallo JV

West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 6-5 walk-off victory over Montevallo JV at TBD. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the third when Kaden Franks was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers came back to win despite trailing 5-1 in the second.
Montevallo JV got on the board in the first inning after #12 singled, scoring one run.
Cason Cook was struck by a pitch, which helped West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Montevallo JV jumped into the lead in the top of the second when #20 singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and #11 singled, scoring two runs.
West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Stratton Glass singled to center field, Micheal Ryan walked, Jackson Stone was struck by a pitch, Kash Morris singled, and Franks was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Jonathon Poole earned the win for West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers. The starter surrendered three hits and five runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking five. #5 started on the mound for Montevallo JV. The pitcher gave up three hits and four runs over two and one-third innings, striking out four and walking five. Stone pitched one inning of shutout ball for West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

Stone, Morris, Glass, Cook, and Franks each drove in one run for West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers. Drue Mckinney paced West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Glass stole two bases. West Blocton Junior Varsity Tigers ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game.
