Christmas on the Cahaba: Candy Cane Lane Announced
By Savannah Logan
Christmas on the Cahaba festivities are expanding this year with an exciting new addition — Candy Cane Lane! Families, businesses, schools, sports teams, churches, and community groups are invited to join the celebration by sponsoring and decorating a Christmas tree along this festive trail. Located at the BMC Wellness Center, the Candy Cane Lane Christmas tree trail will transform the walking path into a vibrant display of holiday spirit, providing a unique opportunity for local organizations to contribute to a new community tradition.
By sponsoring a tree, participants can not only spread seasonal joy but also showcase their creativity and promote their group or business in the heart of the community. Each decorated tree will remain on display for six weeks, creating a joyful holiday experience for all visitors who walk the trail. Sponsorship costs $150 per tree, with setup dates scheduled for November 20-22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Trees can be taken down January 3-5, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Those interested in joining Candy Cane Lane can register online at the Brent-Centreville Public Library website. This site also allows community members to sign up for the Christmas Parade, enter the Home or Business Decorating Contests, register for the Candy Cane Lane Christmas Tree Trail, and order special holiday-themed sweatshirts or long-sleeve tees.
All proceeds from these festive activities will benefit the Brent-Centreville Public Library, helping it continue to serve the community throughout the year.
