Tiger Defeats Northside Varsity Rams On Back Of Clutch Display

Tigers scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. An error scored two runs and Kidd singled, scoring two runs. Irvin started the game for Tigers. She surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Tigers collected 11 hits in the game. Harrell went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Tigers in hits. Krimson Calhoun collected two hits for Tigers in two at bats. Lillie Shadwick, Calhoun, Klair Grady, and Kidd each stole multiple bases for Tiger. Tigers stole 10 bases in the game. 

 

WBHS 5 Lamar Co. 4 

Tigers Hold Off Lamar County For Victory. 

Tigers got out to a 5-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over Lamar County. Tigers were the first to get on the board in the first when Jacey Register singled, scoring one run. Tigers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Register tripled, and Kimora Harrell homered to left field, each scoring two runs. Harrell stepped in the circle first for Tigers. She gave up three hits and four runs (zero earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Raylyn Irvin appeared in relief for Tigers. 

 

WBHS 7 Gordo 6 

Tiger Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Gordo Varsity Ladywaves 

It came down to the wire as the Tigers grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 7-6, over Gordo Varsity Ladywaves. Tigers were down 6-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Kimora Harrell homered to center field, scoring three runs. Tigers rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-0 in the fourth. Harrell earned the win for Tigers. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none. Raylyn Irvin led things off in the circle for Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and six runs (five earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one. Khloey Forsythe and Jacey Register each collected two hits for Tigers. Harrell provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Tigers with three runs batted in. Harrell went 1 for 3 against Gordo.

West Blocton Varsity Firing On All Cylinders Against Jemison 

Varsity Panthers 

West Blocton Varsity got on the board in the top of the first inning after MacKynli Kidd was struck by a pitch, Kimora Harrell singled, Lillie Shadwick walked, and Genesis Snelson grounded out, each scoring one run. West Blocton Varsity scored six runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Harrell doubled, scoring two runs, Khloey Forsythe singled, scoring two runs, Snelson grounded out, scoring one run, and Kylie Smith grounded out, scoring one run. 

West Blocton Varsity added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Jacey Register singled, Kidd walked, Forsythe doubled, and Shadwick grounded out, each. Harrell stepped in the circle first for West Blocton Varsity. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Raylyn Irvin tossed two innings of zero-run ball for West Blocton Varsity in relief. The reliever allowed one hit, striking out five and walking none. West Blocton Varsity tallied 11 hits in the game. Forsythe, Krimson Calhoun, Harrell, and Register each collected two hits for West Blocton Varsity. Forsythe and Harrell were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for West Blocton Varsity. West Blocton Varsity had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Calhoun and Kidd led the team with two walks each. Calhoun stole two bases.

MacKynli Kidd A Difficult Out As West Blocton Varsity Defeat 

Briarwood Christian Varsity Lady Lions 

MacKynli Kidd collected four hits in four at bats, as West Blocton Varsity defeated Briarwood Christian Varsity Lady Lions 11-4. 

Kidd doubled in the first inning, tripled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning. West Blocton Varsity opened the scoring in the first after Kidd doubled, scoring one run. 

West Blocton Varsity captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the fourth when an error scored one run, and Krimson Calhoun singled, scoring two runs. In the bottom of the fifth inning after Briarwood Christian Varsity Lady Lions committed an error, and Klair Grady singled scoring a run. West Blocton Varsity scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kidd singled, scoring one run, Kimora Harrell doubled, scoring one run, Khloey Forsythe singled, scoring one run, Lillie Shadwick doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. West Blocton Varsity amassed 13 hits in the game. Calhoun and Kidd each drove in two runs for West Blocton Varsity. Forsythe collected two hits for West Blocton Varsity in four at bats. Harrell earned the win for West Blocton Varsity. The reliever allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out six and walking none. Competitive Game Ends In Walkoff As West Blocton Varsity Falls To Verbena Varsity Red Devils 

A walk-off left West Blocton Varsity on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to Verbena Varsity Red Devils.  

Jacey Register collected four hits in five at bats in the loss. Register singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh inning. In the top of the third inning, West Blocton Varsity took lead after Krimson Calhoun singled, Register singled, MacKynli Kidd singled, and Kimora Harrell grounded out, each scoring one run.  West Blocton Varsity tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a double by Kidd, and a sacrifice fly by Khloey Forsythe. In the 6th West Blocton Varsity scored on a passed ball, which helped West Blocton Varsity tie the game at eight in the top of the seventh. Harrell pitched five and two-thirds innings in relief for West Blocton Varsity. She gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) while, striking out six and walking six. Raylyn Irvin stepped in the circle first for West Blocton Varsity. She surrendered seven hits and seven runs (six earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two. West Blocton Varsity amassed 10 hits in the game. Forsythe, Harrell, Register, Klair Grady, and Kidd each drove in one run for West Blocton Varsity. Register stole three bases. West Blocton Varsity stole five bases in the game. West Blocton Varsity turned one double play in the game.

Big Sixth Inning Leads West Blocton Varsity Past Hale County 

Varsity Wildcats 

West Blocton Varsity defeated Hale County Varsity Wildcats 11-1 thanks in part to seven runs in the sixth inning. Lillie Shadwick doubled, scoring one run, Emma Martin singled, scoring one run, Raylyn Irvin singled, scoring one run, Jacey Register tripled, scoring two runs, Kimora Harrell singled, scoring one run, and Khloey Forsythe singled, scoring one run. West Blocton Varsity opened the scoring in the first after Klair Grady hit a solo home run to left field. West Blocton Varsity added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after MacKynli Kidd singled, and Harrell lined out, each scoring one run. Irvin opened the game for West Blocton Varsity. She allowed one hit and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking one.
