Are you a student looking to add some fun to your summer while also gaining valuable skills, earning money, boosting your resume, and getting a nice tan while you’re at it? Well, look no further – Brierfield Park is thrilled to offer an incredible opportunity for students to become certified lifeguards through the American Red Cross, completely free of charge.

This unique chance not only allows you to obtain an official certification, but also provides hands-on experience and a fulfilling job for the summer. Training will take place at BMC Wellness Center and Brierfield State Park from May 10th to 12th, with a commitment required for the full summer term from May to August. If one is unable to fulfill the required term commitment after official hire, they will be responsible for repaying the $50 cost for the certification.

To qualify, you must be 16 years or older with a valid driver’s license, possess strong swimming and diving abilities, pass both written and physical lifeguard exams, and be able to handle the demands of summer weather. Additionally, adherence to Brierfield State Park guidelines is essential, including no cell phones allowed in the pool area during shifts.

Don’t miss the parent and student interest meeting on April 4th, 2024, at 5:30 PM at BMC Wellness Center, where a parent or guardian’s attendance is mandatory.
