The festive spirit is taking over Bibb County this December as Relay for Life of Bibb County hosts a heartwarming Christmas Tree Lighting event at Tabernacle Farm. Mark your calendars for Friday, December 1, 2023, from 5 to 7 pm, as this promises to be an evening of joy, remembrance, and spreading holiday cheer.
This event is made for families seeking a magical start to the holiday season. The evening is packed with delightful activities sure to captivate both the young and the young at heart, gathering our loved ones together to join in – even the ones who have passed on.
Santa Claus will be available for photographs with eager children and even our furry friends! Friendly dogs are more than welcome to join in on the festive fun. Kids are encouraged to bring along their letters to Santa, creating precious moments as they hand-deliver their wishes in person.
As the air fills with the sweet scent of cookies and hot chocolate, generously provided and served by the esteemed Centreville Study Club, attendees can savor these delightful treats, enhancing the warmth of the occasion.
In the spirit of giving, children will have the opportunity to craft special reindeer food, perfect for guiding Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve. It’s a hands-on activity that adds a touch of magic to the night.
One of the most touching aspects of the evening is the chance to honor and remember loved ones who have bravely battled cancer. Ornament-making, featuring personalized names in tribute to these heroes, will be available. To participate, kindly turn in the names and a $5 contribution for each ornament to either Cynthia Winegard or Ryan Thompson.
The ceremony will include a reading of these names, symbolizing the strength and resilience of those impacted by cancer, followed by the ringing of a bell—a symbol of hope and remembrance.
Adding a melodious touch to the evening, the children’s ministries from local churches will enchant attendees with their sweet voices, singing beloved Christmas carols that warm the heart and lift the spirits.
