Forestry & Wildlife Club
Bibb County 4-H will be offering a FREE Forestry & Wildlife Club for youth ages 8-18 years old. The 4-H Forestry program helps youth to gain a strong understanding of trees, forest management, and environmental issues. It also provides hands on learning experiences that helps individuals develop skills to become better managers of forested land.
Students will learn how to manage and conserve a variety of forest habitats by acquiring skills in tree species identification, timber measurement, insect and disease identification, compass and pacing, and evaluating forest growth. Students will also prepare and compete in the State 4-H Forestry & Wildlife Contest in summer 2022.
Meeting dates begin Saturday, December 11th from 10:00 am – Noon and includes lunch. The first meeting will be at Bibb County Lake. 4-H Summer Camp 2020
Registration for 4-H Summer Camp is officially OPEN!
Bibb County 4-H heads to Summer Camp June 20-22, 2022.
Summer camp is open to kids who will be 8 years old by January 1st, 2022 and no older than 14 years old by the same date. All campers must be enrolled by February 22, 2022 with their $25 deposit. Total camp fee is $150. This is a 3 day overnight camp at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana. Activities include climbing wall, swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, live animal class, giant swing and more!
Counselor In Training (CIT)
Alabama 4-H Center is in need of CIT’s for summer camp 2022. You must be 15 years old and able to stay for a full week at camp. Serving as a CIT at summer camp is a great way to build leadership experience, and have fun while doing it! Camp fee for CIT’s is $50. If you are interested in becoming a CIT, contact Bibb County 4-H Agent Simon Carbone.
