A Better Process Control School- Acidified Foods
October 21st and 22nd, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Auburn, Room 109 of the CASIC building, located at 559 Devall Drive
Auburn University Better Process Control School (BPCS) offers instruction which fulfills the FDA and USDA Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements to certify supervisor thermal processing systems, acidification and container closure evaluation programs for acidified canned foods. The school will be held in Auburn in. Registration is $350.00 and includes instruction material, supplies, lunch for 2 days, and certificates earned. Turf Selection

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System will host a Turf Selection meeting on October 27th. The meeting will be available on zoom and will begin at 10:30 and end before noon. Extension Turf Specialist, Dr. Dave Han will discuss turf selection at the meeting and answer additional turf questions. This meeting will be very beneficial for anyone wanting more information about the turf they are growing or those who are interested in establishing a new turf.

As the Bibb County Coordinator for Alabama Extension, Michelle Giddens coordinates the implementation of all Extension programs in Bibb County in many program areas. These program areas include 4-H and Youth Development, Animal Sciences, Food Safety and Quality, Forestry, Wildlife and Natural Resources, Human Nutrition, Diet and Health, Family and Child Development, Family Resource Management and Workforce Development, Commercial Horticulture, Home Grounds, Gardens and Home Pests, Farm and Agribusiness Management, and Community and Economic Development. Her experience includes with the eXtension Initiative at the University of Nebraska and with the eXtension Foundation; California State University, Fresno and Central Community College in Grand Island, NE. She currently serves on the board for Brierfield Fire and Rescue, a volunteer fire department serving Brierfield and Six Mile communities in Alabama
