A Community Town Hall meeting was held July 10 in Randolph. Sponsored by the Bibb County Healthcare Authority, the meeting helped provide a community health update to talk about quality care, access to care and what can be done to help create a healthier community.

The Bibb Healthcare Authority is being proactive to hear from local communities about what their perceived needs are and to let citizens know what is available.

The Town Hall meetings provide an excellent opportunity to talk face to face with local leaders, area commissioners, citizens, and to get the word out about healthcare.

“We need to hear community voices to help understand community challenges,” said Jami Carlee, Public Relations Officer at Bibb Medical Center.

The meeting was an open forum and allowed community members to ask questions, share perspectives, and learn about ongoing initiatives in the community which are aimed at improving the health of Bibb County area residents.

The turnout for the Randolph Town Hall was very good despite conflicting events going on around the county.  The Bibb County Healthcare Authority plans to conduct more of these “Listen and Learn” Town Hall meetings across the County as soon as possible.
