Bibb County health providers share in new round of state rural health grants
Cahaba Medical Care Foundation, which serves Bibb County, was awarded $288,637 across three initiatives â simulation training, cancer screening and a rural health digital platform â as part of Gov. Kay Ivey’s second round of Alabama Rural Health Transformation Program grants. Other regional recipients included St. Vincent’s Chilton (UAB) and Greene County Health System.

Alabama joins new federal K-12 scholarship tax credit program
The U.S. Treasury Department issued guidance on the Education Freedom Tax Credit, letting donors claim up to $1,700 annually for gifts to scholarship organizations funding private school tuition. Alabama is among 30 states that have opted in; the program takes effect in January 2027.
