Karen Bratcher Dennis Williams passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025. She was born in Birmingham to James Woodrow Bratcher and Mary Frances Varin Bratcher on February 26, 1945.
She was a graduate of Shades Valley High School and the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She taught elementary school for twenty-seven years in Shelby, Perry and Hale counties. She was married to Major Walter C. Williams of Uniontown, Alabama for twenty-eight years.
Mrs. Williams attended Centreville Presbyterian Church and was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Alabama Daylily Society and the Centreville Study Club.
She is survived by her husband and four children: Christian Dennis Sanford, Patrick Dennis (Stacy), Georgia Dennis Holdefer (Kevin) and Catherine Dennis Cooper (Daniel). She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Amelia Dennis, Varin Dennis, Simms Dennis, William Holdefer, Elisabeth Holdefer, Anna Holdefer, James Varin Cooper, Charles Cooper, Adelaide Cooper and Abigail Cooper. Karen is also survived by her sister Suzanne Bratcher Donovan.
She is predeceased by her parents, former husband Lawrence E. Dennis and sister Lynne Bratcher Speake.

Funeral services will take place at 10am on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Centreville Presbyterian Church in Centreville, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on behalf of Mrs. Williams to Centreville Presbyterian Church.
