Audrey Waits of Centreville to Perform at National Choral Conference
TUSCALOOSA, AL (11/06/2025)– The University of Alabama Treble Chorus has been selected to perform at the National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO) Professional Development Conference in Fullerton, California, on November 7.
Audrey Waits of Centreville is a member of the chorus.
The NCCO conference is a national biennial event that showcases select collegiate choirs from across the country. Only 12 institutions were chosen to perform this year, following adjudication by a panel of experts in the field.
The UA Treble Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble of 49 undergraduate and graduate singers representing more than 35 academic disciplines across campus. The ensemble emphasizes both musical excellence and community: singers engage collaboratively in rehearsal, build personal connection to repertoire and support one another’s musical growth.
The mission of the UA Treble Chorus is to unite treble singers through choral music, with a strong belief that excellence and joy are not opposites. They thrive under the director’s motto, “make serious music unseriously.”
The choir’s set for NCCO is titled “Music’s Transformation.” The repertoire infuses humor, whole-hearted singing, and full-body music-making through body percussion and dance. The UA Treble Chorus will represent The University of Alabama, the state of Alabama and the southern region when the ensemble travels to California in early November.
