
Mary Elizabeth “Too Too” Booth Medders, 86, of Centreville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama.
Born on December 28, 1938, in Athens, Alabama, to the late William Baxter and Mary Archer (Lawson) Booth Sr., “Too Too” was a 1957 graduate of Athens High School and went on to attend the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Cleo Ellison Medders, infant sons Robert Bradley Medders and William Ellison Medders, and her brothers Baxter Booth and Richard Booth. She is survived by her children, Molly Medders Wagner (Bill) and Bryant Medders (Pam); six cherished grandchildren, Joshua Meadows (Emily), Nelson Wagner, John Martin Wagner (Elizabeth), Jenna Partridge (Daniel), Annie Tweedy (Sean), and Ramey Hart (Jackson); her sister, Jane Booth McFadden; her brother, Archie Booth; and many nieces and nephews.
Over the years, “Too Too” touched many lives through her service at Centreville Baptist Church and her time at The Centreville Press. She enjoyed playing bridge, supporting the Bibb County Booster Club, and cheering for the University of Alabama. Above all, her greatest joy was being “Too Too” to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also cherished spending time with her sister-in-law, Lynn Ellinghausen, and her dear friend, Betty Edwards.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. at Centreville Baptist Church, with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Donnie Payne will preside. Burial will follow at Pineland Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Meadows, Nelson Wagner, John Martin Wagner, Sean Tweedy, Jackson Hart, and Daniel Partridge. Honorary pallbearers include Dale Ellinghausen, Michael Burroughs, Linda Burkes, Hermoine Hardenbergh, Sandra and Wayne Horton, Lacey Mitchell, Marietta and Fulton Prevost, Centreville Baptist Church Love Class and Young at Heart, the BMC Wellness Center exercise class, and the residents and staff of The Congregate.
