Judson College Campus No Longer Considered for New School

The Healthcare Science High School is scheduled to open in fall 2025, with its permanent building expected by 2026. For the upcoming school year, the University of West Alabama in Livingston will serve as the temporary campus.
Judson College in Marion was once considered for the temporary site, but plans fell through due to concerns about the town’s infrastructure. Supporters couldn’t guarantee clean water, proper police protection, or an acceptable quality of life for students and staff.
The Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences will be the state’s first residential high school focused on healthcare careers, set to open in Demopolis in 2026.
