Pineview Baptist Church is excited to announce that the position for their new pastor has been filled. The church is eager to share this wonderful news with the community and introduce their new pastor, who will soon be leading worship services.
Pastor Nathan Vanderburg was born and raised in Tuscaloosa and currently lives in the Taylorville area of Tuscaloosa. He also works at the University of Alabama and has been employed there since 2003. Pastor Nathans and his wife Heather have been married since 2008 and have two boys, Ethan is 11 and Tanner is 9. He loves spending time with his family. Pastor Nathan says, “I enjoy taking my boys hunting, watching their ballgames, and of course cheering for the Crimson Tide. When I’m not busy, I like to spend my time reading or going for a walk and listening to music or a good podcast.”
When asked to share his personal testimony and how he was called into ministry, he shared, “Well, I thought I was saved at a young age as a teenager. My family wasn’t active in church. But we would go sometimes. I remember going to church one night with my family and going up to the altar at the end of the service. I was a little emotional and at the time, was led in prayer to receive Christ. Personally, I think it was more of an emotional experience for me. Nothing about me changed. I still wasn’t active in church afterwards and not much had changed about my life. I definitely wasn’t serving the Lord after that. It was in 2015 when I was truly saved and born-again through faith in Jesus Christ. By God’s grace my heart was opened to the gospel, I put my faith in Christ as my Lord and Savior and I’ve been walking by faith and seeking to live for him since then. I felt called to ministry while on a mission trip not long after that. I spoke with my pastor, he discipled me and still disciples me, but I believe ministry is God’s call on my life and pastoring and preaching his word I would say truly began while on a mission trip in El Salvador several years ago.”
Pastor Vanderburg’s vision for Pineview Church in the next 3-5 years is simple.
Continue to be a Great Commission church. That they will make disciples and grow in missions for the gospel of Jesus Christ. “I pray we continue to be a part of what God is doing locally in Centreville and that God will use us even beyond that. If we will just be faithful to his word and seek him, there is no telling what could happen in 3-5 years. I love the people here at the church. Great folks. They love their community, they love each other, and they love to worship the Lord. I had been filling in temporarily as they searched for a pastor, but after serving here during that time and getting to know the people, the Lord worked it out for me to minister here as their pastor and fill the position. I truly believe the Lord has blessings in store for Pineview and the community, and I am glad to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing what happens and my family and I are thankful to be a part of Pineview Baptist Church,” says Pastor Vanderburg.
Pineview looks forward to the journey ahead and invites everyone to come and get to know their new spiritual leader.
