BMC Specialty Clinic Promotes Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

by Savannah Logan

Bibb Medical Center’s (BMC) Specialty Clinic is raising awareness about colorectal cancer and the importance of early detection. In recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, BMC is proud to partner with Gregory Kennedy, MD, PhD, from the Division of GI Surgery at UAB Medicine. This collaboration allows BMC to provide expert colorectal care close to home, making life-saving screenings more accessible for the local community.

Colorectal cancer screenings play a crucial role in early detection and prevention. By catching abnormalities early, healthcare professionals can intervene before the disease progresses, ultimately saving lives. BMC encourages individuals to talk to their healthcare provider about getting screened and taking proactive steps toward their health.

For those interested in scheduling a screening, BMC Specialty Clinic is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. To learn more, visit bibbmed.com/specialty-clinic or call 205-926-3270.
