Centreville’s Chief Rodney Smith Completes Training

The University Partnership for Alabama Continuing Education (UPACE) and the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police proudly announce that Chief Rodney Smith has successfully completed 240 hours of training in the Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program. This is the highest level of achievement awarded through this program.

Chief Smith now joins an elite group of police chiefs across the state who have completed this rigorous four-level program, developed by the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police and supported by the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission. His accomplishment is a testament to his dedication and is a significant honor for both him and the City of Centreville.

Chief Smith received his certification and recognition during the annual Association of Chiefs of Police Conference in Montgomery, Alabama, on February 13, 2025.

The program’s coursework covers essential leadership and management topics, including:

· Understanding and Developing Your Leadership Style

· Police Leadership: Managing for the Future

· Ethics and Integrity

· Police Organizational Structure: Managing for Effectiveness

· Strategic Planning and Personnel Management
