The Bibb County Education Retiree’s Association held their February meeting at the West Blocton Library. Cheryl Henderson from AARP presented an informative meeting on scams and fraud affecting seniors. The February service project was bringing teacher supplies for first year teachers in Bibb County as part of Bibb County Education Retiree’s new teacher mentoring program . The program has supported teachers in their first year of teaching in providing supplies as well as tips on classroom management and other advice important for a successful experience in their first year of teaching. Members also voted to make a donation to the Library in memory of former President and long time member Dot Cottingham Calderwood. Members attending were: Suzanne Jones, Cheryl Henderson, Guest Speaker AARP, Donna Cook, Barbara Smith, Vickie Brown, Fran Kornegay, Janis Conway, Avis Huey, Linda Cottingham, Joan Williamson and Mary Beth Sansing.
