Woodstock Community Library Introduces Beginner’s Genealogy Class

By Savannah Logan

Have you ever wondered about great great grandmother so and so? Where you came from, all the folks who came together at some point in history that brought you into this world? Well, here is your chance to learn more!

The Woodstock Community Library is introducing a Beginner’s Genealogy Class for anyone interested in uncovering their family’s history. Led by master genealogist Dianne Chesser, this class will provide a step-by-step guide to researching family roots, making it perfect for both beginners and those needing a refresher. Participants will receive valuable tools and tips to help them start their genealogical journey, and they are encouraged to bring a pen and paper to take notes.

The class will begin on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, and will continue every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Woodstock Community Library. For those with more advanced experience, the Expert-Level Genealogy Class, led by Linda Deloach, will remain at its regular schedule on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to Noon.

Genealogy is a fascinating way to connect with the past, and this class offers a wonderful opportunity for the community to explore their heritage. Whether you are just starting out or looking to refine your research skills, these classes provide the perfect space to learn and grow in your genealogical journey.
