Community Connect: Kim Holladay, Assistant County Administrator

In this installment of our Community Connect series, we spoke with Kim Holladay, the Assistant County Administrator for Bibb County. Kim’s dedication to her work, her community, and her family shines through in all she does. From overseeing county finances to promoting community projects, Kim exemplifies what it means to serve with purpose and grace.
Can you tell us about your family?
“Jeremy and I have been married for 15 years. We have one son, John Morgan.”
Can you tell us about your role as the Assistant Bibb County Administrator and your key responsibilities?
“My role as Assistant County Administrator is ever-changing with each day and what is needed. I assist the County Administrator, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Maintenance on occasion in any way they need me. But my main function is to watch over the county’s money with Brian and to help all the citizens of the county with any questions they have.”
How do you support the County Administrator in managing county operations?
“I try to help any way I can, but sometimes I’m just a sounding board when he needs it.”
What’s your favorite part about living in Bibb County?
“Community. Everyone tries to help when you need it.”
Who is someone in your life who inspires you?
“Brian inspires me with his dedication and leadership.”
What is your favorite meal?
“Chicken and Dumplings. It’s one of the best comfort foods.”
Do you have a favorite band or artist?
“Right now, I am on a Brandon Lake kick. But I don’t really have a favorite band. However, most of the music I listen to is Contemporary Christian or not today’s music.”
What has been your favorite vacation, and what is your dream vacation?
“My dream vacation would be to go back out west. I want to see Yellowstone, Monument Valley, and the Petrified Forest.”
It’s been a long week – what are you doing to unwind?
“Just relax and not think about anything.”
Do you have any pets?
“We have two Labs: Drake and Dixie.”
Do you have a favorite Bible verse or quote you do your best to live by?
“1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
What accomplishments are you most proud of in your time as Assistant Administrator?
“Helping lead the Litter Incentive. This program was a little slow to get up and going, but we have had trash cleaned up by different organizations in the County for 13 months. So, if any organization wants information on the Litter Incentive Program, please give me a call.”
How do you balance the demands of your job with your personal life?
“My work environment is great. Brian understands if I have something I need to do with my family.”
What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
“I like to read when I can; however, my family keeps me busy.”
What values or principles guide you in your personal and professional life?
“Grace. Everyone needs grace to get through life.”
