The West Alabama Regional Commission (WARC) held its Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Tuscaloosa River Market. The event highlighted WARC’s achievements for the fiscal year and recognized individuals contributing positively to the West Alabama region. The event featured a presentation by current WARC Chairman Rod Northam, Mayor of Fayette, who expressed gratitude to outgoing Chairperson Bobbie White, Mayor of Brent, for her dedicated service.

Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Reed was the evening’s featured speaker. He shared updates on recent state legislation, celebrated accomplishments across Alabama, and announced his upcoming role as Senior Advisor for Workforce Transformation at the newly formed Alabama Department of Workforce, effective January 1, 2025. This department succeeds the Alabama Department of Labor.
