Stella-Jones is a prominent North American company specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of pressure-treated wood products for industrial use. With 47 facilities across North America, the company supplies a range of products, including utility poles, railroad crossties, and treated lumber, serving clients around the globe. 

The company has a significant presence in the southern United States, with 20 facilities stretching from Warsaw, Virginia, through the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and into Texas in cities like Lufkin and Jasper. These locations primarily produce and distribute wood utility poles, while several other facilities focus on manufacturing crossties. Stella-Jones employs over 3,000 people throughout North America. 

Among its facilities, the SJC Brierfield plant stands out as the largest pole production site, employing nearly 100 people from and near Bibb County, Alabama. The nearby Montevallo facility, located just across the Shelby-Bibb County line, also employs several Bibb County residents and specializes in producing railroad crossties.
