The Bibb County Board of Education Special Education Department were awarded a State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG). The purpose of the grant is to provide staff professional development and resources to provide effective Transition school and community work experiences for students to improve post high school employment outcomes for students with disabilities. The competitive grants are awarded to selected LEA’s by Special Education Services, Alabama State Department of Education. The Bibb County Transition team consist of team members from Centreville Middle School, Bibb County High School, West Blocton Middle School, West Blocton High School and Central Office. The team recently attended a training conducted by the National Technical Assistance Center on Transitions (NTACT) where they gained knowledge to help support effective Transition programs in Bibb County. Team members seen with Dr. Kyle Reardon, Trainer are Jennifer Downs, Bibb County Special Education Coordinator; Amy Hatter, Angela Lint, Julie McKinney, Brenda McRee, Clinton Riner, Katie Williams and Gregory Dumas. The team’s Instructional Coach from the Alabama SDE (part- time RSA) is Vickie Brown of Brent, Alabama.
