Bibb Medical Center Offers Free Medicare Counseling for Open Enrollment

By Savannah Logan

With the 2025 Medicare open enrollment period just around the corner, Bibb Medical Center (BMC) is providing a valuable service to the community by offering free Medicare counseling. Beginning October 16, BMC will host counseling sessions every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, ensuring that Medicare beneficiaries are equipped with the knowledge to choose the best plan suited to their medical needs.

The counseling sessions are available to individuals and couples and cover various aspects of Medicare enrollment, including plan comparisons and individualized recommendations. The goal is to help participants avoid getting stuck with a plan that may not align with their healthcare needs for the coming year.

Molly Averette, LBSW, Director of Social Services at BMC, emphasizes the importance of seeking professional guidance during the Medicare open enrollment period, which runs from October 15 to December 7. With a large amount of information distributed during this time, making the right choice can be overwhelming. BMC’s counselors are prepared to simplify the process by providing personalized assistance.

Interested individuals can make an appointment by calling 205-926-3360 or visiting BMC’s Medicare counseling website at www.bmcwellness.com/medicarecounseling. In-person appointments will be held at Bibb Medical Center, located at 285 Hospital Drive, Centreville, AL 35034.

This free service offers a critical resource for Medicare recipients to ensure they are enrolled in the best possible plan for 2025, and that they may be eligible for additional benefits.
