Unstoppable: Thriving at Any Age

We had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. John T. Banks, a Bibb County resident and a proud veteran with a lifelong passion for playing softball. At 65, he was invited to join the ISSA Senior Softball team, which competes across the country. The International Senior Softball Association (ISSA), founded in 1994, gives senior players the chance to participate in top-quality tournaments and is a partner of USA Softball, the sport’s national governing body.
Mr. Banks played for the “Deep South” senior softball team, winning several championships and placing 1st or 2nd in many. He received the all-tournament award 3 times and proudly owns 8 championship rings and 6 medals for 1st and 2nd place finishes.
Age doesn’t hold this man back. Now at the age of 76, Mr. Banks is hanging up his hat and retiring from the team. It was a pleasure getting to know Mr. Banks during our interview.
