Laurence Meigs Olliff of Centreville unexpectedly entered rest on July 16 in at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa. He had been in Tuscaloosa for medical treatment for the previous month.

Larry, as he was known, was a lifelong resident of Centreville, who was born in Selma March 16, 1952, the son of Laura Jean Meigs Olliff and Martin Tanner Olliff, both of whom were deceased at the time of Larry’s passing.

Larry attended Alexander Consolidated School in Centreville and graduated from Bibb County High School, Class of 1970. He attended University of Montevallo, after which he returned to Centreville, where he was engaged in a number pursuits for many years. For the past ten years he had been retired.

He is survived by several first cousins, Gail Sparks Clark, Sandi Meigs Horsley, Debbie Meigs Manis, Danny Meigs of Georgetown, Texas, Judge Jack Meigs, and Dr. John Meigs, and a number of half brothers and sisters.
