Bibb County’s women landowners are set to gain valuable insights into forest management at the upcoming ForestHER Basics workshop, organized by the Alabama Extension. Scheduled for May 13th and 14th, 2024 at Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park, this two-day event promises to be both informative and enjoyable.

Designed specifically with women landowners in mind, ForestHER workshops provide a relaxed yet educational environment where participants can delve into essential topics related to forest management. Attendees will have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of reading maps and deeds, identifying and measuring forest trees, and effectively managing both timber and non-timber products.

The workshop’s agenda includes hands-on demonstrations, a field tour, and ample opportunities for attendees to practice newly acquired skills. To ensure participants are fueled for the day’s activities, lunch will be provided on both days, with an additional dinner served on the first evening.

Interested individuals can secure their spot at the ForestHER Basics workshop by registering online. A registration fee of $50 applies.
