Billy Curtis Lippeatt, age 79, of West Blocton, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024. Billy was born in West Blocton to Emery and Mary Lippeatt. He earned degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Montevallo, as he entered the field of education. He taught, coached and was an administrator at West Blocton High School for 28 years. He even led the baseball team to a State Championship in 1980. He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at West Blocton First Baptist Church. His favorite hobbies were playing golf and vegetable gardening. One of his many accomplishments was building his family home. But he was most proud of his role as dedicated “Pop” to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Emery and Mary Lippeatt, sister-in-law, Nita Owings; and brother-in-law, George Arnold. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Dianne Lippeatt; daughters, Valery Reach (Wayne) and Angela White (Brent); grandchildren, Curtis Reach (Casey), Joel Reach (Kathleen), Nathan Reach, Jesslyn Bolton (Tyler), Stephen White, and Audrey White; sisters, Mary Beth Sansing (Walter) and Pam Wright (Kim); brother-in-law, Joe Owings; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Paula, Sherry and Kenny of Hospice of West Alabama, as well as other special caregivers, Renee and Latasha, for their outstanding care.

A visitation for Billy will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at West Blocton First Baptist Church, 1249 Main Street, West Blocton, AL, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Rev. Matt Pope will officiate. Pallbearers are Curtis Reach, Joel Reach, Nathan Reach, Stephen White, Tyler Bolton and Heath Wright.

There will be a private family burial at Schultz Creek Cemetery.
