Request to Address City Council:

Draper McMillian addressed the council with information on the previously presented paving project.  The project has been properly advertised with a low bid of $486,500.00.  The work is projected to be completed by late September/early October.

Personnel Action: – (previously handled)

Other Business:

  1. Remove Quail Drive from the paving project.  If the transfer truck continues to utilize this road re-paving will not accomplish the desired results.

2. Park and Walking Track Times.  There have been several instances of misuse of these facilities.  Operating hours and clean-up after events are not being taken seriously.  The police department has been called but since appropriate signs are not posted corrective action could not be taken.  A motion was made (Jones) seconded (Conway) and approved to:

  • Set the time for the park with walking track and pavilion to be open during daylight hours only (entire year);
  • Reservations with deposit are required at City Hall;
  • Reservations that end at 10:00pm means that the facilities MUST be cleaned up and vacated at this time;
  • Appropriate signs will be erected;
  • Police will be enforcing rules.

3. Council went into executive session to discuss raises.  Reporter was requested to leave.
