The Brierfield Community is planning a Meet the Candidates event for Sunday afternoon, May 15th. The free access event will be held at the Brierfield Iron Works park from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

 

Event spokesperson Jackson McNeely told the Press that many statewide candidates have announced their intention to appear and speak.Below is the reported list of confirmed candidates:

Lindy Blanchard – Gov
Lew Burdette – Gov
Kay Ivey – Gov
Dean Odle – Gov
Dave Thomas – Gov
Russell Bedsole – District 49
Michael Hart – District 49
Debra Jones – Supreme Court
Jim Zeigler – Secretary of State
Rusty Glover – Auditor
John Hammock – PSC place 1
Stephen McLamb – PSC place 1
Brent Woodall – PSC place 1
Robin Litaker – PSC place 2
Ty Corbell – Bibb County Commission District 4
Bobby Hayward – Bibb County Commission District 4
Greg Blake – BOE Superintendent
Kevin Cotner – BOE Superintendent
Duane McGee – BOE Superintendent
Cheryl Acker Dodson – BOE District 4

 

This is a heck of a lineup of candidates. This should make for a fun afternoon of old time campaigning. So bring your lawnchairs and a church fan and be prepared for some good campaign talk.
