Rick Edmonds of Brent has announced his candidacy for Mayor. The following is his campaign platform.
I have lived all of my life in Bibb County. I am a member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church. I am president of the Brent Civitan Club. I worked for ALFA insurance for 12 years. During that time I was number three and five top sales for the company. Since 2004 I have been employed by Edmonds Enterprises.
People have asked me why I am running for office. Put simply, I want to make a difference in the community where I live. My goal is to bring 200 new jobs into Brent. My commitment to you is that I will go anywhere on my own dime to promote, seek, and recruit new jobs and industry for Brent and the surrounding area and communities. While this may seem to be a big goal I have been led my entire life by my parents and coaches to set high goals. “The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards.”
I have much more to say about my reasons for running for Mayor of Brent. I want to talk to all of the voters and tell you about my reasons and I look forward to meeting with each of you.
