An early morning head on collision in the community of Randolph, in Bibb County, this morning claimed the life of one person and another was airlifted to UAB. The accident took place at the intersection of County Road 36 and AL-139, the busiest intersection in that community.

According to Bibb County Coroner Mike Nichols, James B. Jones of Lawley, AL, was deceased at the scene when he arrived to investigate and the other person had already been removed and transported to UAB. The wreck investigation had been completed by a State Trooper. Chief Kenneth Weems of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported that Bibb County was not involved in the wreck investigation.

No details of the accident were available at the time of this report.

Updated 3/11/2019: A family member reported that the second driver airlifted to UAB is Bobby Jackson of Lawley, age 26. He has multiple injuries and has already undergone leg surgeries. He remains in ICU. The source could not provide any information about how the accident happened.
