The Bibb Voice received notice of a fire in progress at approximately 10:15 a.m. at the unoccupied dwelling across the road from the Shell station on Birmingham Road at U.S. 82. The building was completely engulfed in flames.

UPDATE 11:00 A.M.
Centreville VFD Chief Mickey Barton reports that the fire is a controlled burn requested by the property owners in co-operation with a planned training activity for the fire department. Chief Barton stated “there were no problems with the burn. The Centreville Fire Department as always is helping our community in a positive move forward.”
