Today is the last day in office for Gayle Stewart Bearden, the long serving Circuit Clerk of Bibb County and William D. Owings the District Judge. Voters sent Craig A. Cargile to the District Judge Bench and Kayla Cooner to the office of the Circuit Clerk, both winning in close elections.

Cargile will serve a six year term and Cooner a four year term before having to stand again for re-election. Both new court officials were sworn into office today by retired Bibb County Circuit Judge Jack W. Meigs.
