On with the Bibb County Cooperative Extension Office announced that the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries has placed a ban on the movement of all poultry in the state of Alabama. No poultry coming in or going out of state, or moving from one location to another within the state until further notice.
All shows, swaps, auctions and flea market sales are to be cancelled until further notice. This includes “backyard sales.”
These measures are to protect all the poultry in our state, both commercial and the backyard hobbyist, from the spread of avian flu (bird flu). There have been 3 cases of avian flu confirmed in north Alabama. Please stay informed by using the link below.
