The Iron and Steel Museum at Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park along with the West Jefferson County Historical Society will be opening a new exhibit which focuses on the story of three pioneer families and their contributions to the building of the state.

This BICENTENNIAL EXHIBIT Features Pioneers’ Contributions to the building of the State of Alabama.   The exhibit entitled “Please God I May Build as Well” features the stories of the three prominent Alabama pioneer families.

Explore the contributions of these men and women who helped shape Alabama’s history in industry, education, history and more.

The reception, which includes pioneer music and refreshments, is free and open to the public.   The exhibit is a collaboration of the Iron & Steel Museum of Alabama and the West Jefferson County Historical Society in conjunction with the celebration of the Alabama Bicentennial.
